Eston Marchant and Walter J. Bristow, Jr. The law firm has been in continuous practice since that time. In 1982 T. Eston Marchant, who had then assumed the duties as Adjutant General of the State of South Carolina, and Roy D. Bates, then city attorney for the City of Columbia, and both partners in the firm, withdrew, and the remaining partners, Walter B. Todd, Jr. and James R. Barber, III, continued in practice as Todd and Barber until Mr. Barber's withdrawal upon election as a circuit court judge in 1997. The firm then continued as Todd & Ward, PC, Tobias G. Ward, Jr. having joined the firm as partner in 1986. |
